Metro HC is an elite level field hockey club based out of Loudoun County, VA. Our players are motivated student athletes who achieve the highest levels of success in the community, in the classroom, and on the field.

Carley Shannon
Assistant Coach

• Head coach at Hood College 2020. 
• Volunteer coach at Division I Ball State University. her alma mater. 
• USA Field Hockey Futures program in Region 9.
• Coached the High Intensity Training Camp (Manheim, Pennsylvania), Focus College Select Camp (Richmond, Virginia) and the Georgetown Camp (Washington, D.C.). 
• Shannon earned All-Mid-American Conference Second Team at midfielder as a senior after leading the Cardinals in points. 
• Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors and National Scholar of Distinction from the NFHCA. 
• Ball State Graduate with Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and a minor in coaching. She earned her Master degree in exercise physiology in 2020 while she was volunteer coaching BSU

Assistant Coach

• Head skills coach for the Great Falls Field Hockey Program of more than 100 players in Fall of 2016.
• Assistant Field Hockey and Lacrosse coach at St. Catherine’s School in Richmond, VA including an undefeated season in 2012.
• Played at University of Virginia making a Final Four appearance in 2009 as a sophomore before transferring and playing for University of Richmond in 2010.
• Played for the Mid-Atlantic High Performance Team in the USA Field Hockey National Tournament in 2010
• Graduated from University of Richmond, Robins School of Business in 2012.

Assistant Coach

• President of their National Club Field Hockey team while attending the University of South Carolina from 2014-2016 
• Trained at the USA Field Hockey East Coast High Performance Center for the US Men's National Team 
  
• Coached at Urbana High School in Ijamsville MD, specializing in goalie training
• Played Basketball and Tennis and managed the JV and Varsity Field Hockey Teams at Urbana HS

Tracy Bannister
Goalie Coach 

• As a graduate of Ball State University, Coach Tracy earned a letter for all four years in field hockey and served as the starting goalie for her final three.
• Coached field hockey for the Generals at Washington-Lee High School.
• Years of coaching experience in field  hockey, soccer, and track and field.

Rachel Barlett
Assistant Coach

• JV Field Hockey coach at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA maintaining a winning record throughout her tenure at the school including an undefeated season in 2015
• Played at the University of Connecticut where they were consistent Big East Champions and had two Final Four appearances during her last two years
• Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Rock Ridge High School in Ashburn, VA 2016 - 2017
